Boleskine Community Care, in partnership with Highland Home Carers (HHC), provide professionally trained home care workers from the local area to provide support to local people, enabling them to remain in their own community.

Highland Home Carers, an Inverness-based employee-owned organisation, manage the recruitment and training aspects of the service, creating sustainable employment for people who live in the community.

This unique model of care delivery uses the Self-Directed Support (SDS) system, offering much more flexibility and control for service users than the traditional model.

The Hub is open every Tuesday and Thursday between 10am and 3pm for people to drop-in to find out more about any of the services on offer. 


Award-winning service

BCC received a Scottish Care award in June 2015 in recognition of the progressive initiative, adopted by BCC in partnership with HHC, for the delivery of home care in a rural area. 

NHS Highland was also nominated for an award in the “Supporting Caring Communities’ category of the Highland Council Annual Quality Awards on 19th November 2015. The leader of the Self Directed Support Team Jennifer Campbell along with the Boleskine Community Care Manager at the time, Julie Russell, made the presentation.
